Pillars of Eternity First Impressions

Pillars of Eternity (PoE) has to be some of the most fun I've had in awhile. PoE screams of D&D and the old Baldur's Gate games. I haven't seen games made in this style for so long now it's nice to see what is hopefully a comeback. The character creator had a ton of options to pick from. It took me forever to make up my mind on what I wanted to play as. While a lot of games give you character options that don't actually effect the game, in PoE I've started two characters and both have had slight changes in the conversations and actions I can take. The combat can be changed from a more active combat, where you jump from character to character making the game more hectic and difficult. Or you can go more old school, being able to pause and unpause as is needed giving you more control over what's going on. I can't tell you how much fun I've been having with this game so far and I can't wait to get further into it. If you like old school RP...

WildStar New Patch

First let me start off by saying how excited I was for this drop. I actually really enjoyed all of WildStar so far.... until now..... I need to be held. First I'd like to say don't eat anything before you play the new content. Better you don't even eat before you log in because you'll just end up puking it all up. For something that we all had to wait for so it wouldn't be buggy when it dropped, we sure waited for nothing. So far we've had log in problems, and server problems. Everybody in one of the smaller parts of one of the maps, trying not to give anything away here, was killed when dozens of enemies spawned on top of us filling the map, killing us all. They took away my favorite falling skill, and gave me some dumb jet pack that shoots me forward instead. Worst of all, the story is weak. The entire game I was so into what was happening I couldn't wait to see what happened next. In the new zone I feel lost. It's like they couldn't figure how...

Darkness 2

I was bored this weekend and when I found out that Darkness 2 was on sale, on Steam. Good old Steam, it's nice being able to pick up games that I'm not sure about for next to nothing. Anyway Darkness 2 was on sale for $5 and I had nothing to do so I figured what the heck. The Darkness, for those that don't know, is a comic series published by Top Cow. It's about a Mafia hitman that on his 21st birthday becomes the bearer of the Darkness, a force that's been around before time and gives the bearer super powers and control over the demons that lurk in it. The story also ties into other comics like The Witchblade, and The Magdalena. The game is a linear first person shooter where you switch between using the different powers of the Darkness and guns you find a long the way. The game isn't bad if you're looking for an old school shooter. The biggest problem I had is how short it is. I stink at these games and it only took seven hours to beat. Also the story ...

Loadout Review

The all multiplayer arena shooter Loadout was just recently released.  The game it's self reminds me of Team Fortress 2. It gives you different modes, everything from capture the hammer, basically capture the flag only with a giant hammer you can crush people with. It also has classics like team death match, and capture positions on the map. The best part of the game is the weapon customizing.  It lets you rip apart your guns and rebuild them giving them new barrels, changing the clip type, electricity shot, fire shot, and healing powers. You can change the gun from standard old bullets to a ray gun, rockets to a bunch of other things. It's worth checking it out just for that. Also to change up your weapon you don't have to spend real money, it's all done with in game currency, which is one of my favorite things.  The character you play is customizable as well, but take real money to change up. On launch the game has had some issues with a lot of crashing, and fin...

Diablo 3 Stat Guide

Diablo 3 Stat Guide So I know when I started playing I was a bit lost on which stats would help which character. Of course it's easy to guess guess that intelligence is going to be good for the Wizards, and  strength is going to be good for a Barbarians, wouldn't vitality help everybody? And what about Dexterity? Here's a quick guide to that the stat system of Diablo 3. Strength : Raises damage for Barbarians and Armor for all classes. Dexterity : Raises damage for Monks and Demon Hunters and increases Dodge Chance for all classes. Intelligence : Raises damage for Witch Doctors and Wizards and increases resistance for all classes. Vitality : Raises how much life your character has for all classes. Armor : Cuts down on damage taken Damage : How much damage your character can do. So in some way or another each of the stats help. You'll just want to go out of your way to stack your characters main stat, usually followed by vitality. Hope that helps every...

Diablo 3 review!

Lots of flash not do much bang! I've been looking forward to Diablo 3 now for what seems like years. I've played since the original and have relived every second of the series, well almost every second of the series. The game it's self has a great story that keeps you tied to your seat until the very end and maybe that's the problem. The story is great, well told, compelling. Explaining things from the other games as to not leave the new players in the dark. It has plenty of twists and turns leaving people guessing what's going to happen next. Not to mention breath taking cinematics that is until you beat the game. With everything that has happened so far you expect some super amazing, wet your pants spectacular ending, and it simply doesn't happen. It almost feels like the developers got to the end of the game, couldn't decided what to do and just said screw this I'm done the end, leaving all of us dumbfounded and wanting. Major characters are j...
