Mad Max Fury Road review

I didn't go to see Mad Max expecting a lot. I didn't expect to see some epic plot, or get to know some deep characters. I wasn't expecting to have my world changed from this movie. What I did expect though was insane, over the top driving and action. And I got just that. I really don't think their was more than a page or two of conversation during the whole movie. I can't remember the names of most of the character but I can remember the completely over the top adrenalin pumping car chases, the crazy costumes, and the endless fire being shot all over, well all over everything. To put it simply, I loved it. GO SEE THIS MOVIE, it was fun and not enough movies are around for just that anymore, Fun.

New Deus Ex

I lvoed the last Deus Ex game and a new one has finally be announced. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided doesn't have a release date yet but you can check out a trailer for it at: http://www.ign.com/videos/2015/04/08/deus-ex-mankind-divided-announcement-trailer They also have a picture of the new cover. Do Superheroes movies hurt Hollywood?

Superheroes, hurt, Hollywood..... I don't think so. I was reading on an article about how some people actually think that superhero movies are hurting Hollywood, that's a big no. I can tell you what hurts Hollywood and it's the same thing that has hurt it from the beginning, greed. It doesn't matter what movies Hollywood wants to make as long as they are willing to put the time, and resources into it. The problem for any type of movie comes when the studio gets more interested in how fast and cheap they can put something out instead of how good the movie is. If the story sucks, the special effects suck, and the acting is a joke quickly people are going to want to stop seeing your movies. Of course the makers of those movies just claim that it's because people don't want to see those kind of movies anymore and for awhile they stop until somebody else manages to convince a studio to make one again and the cycle starts all over. The moral of the story is make a g...

Spider-Man 2 Movie Review

Well that was another two hours of my life that I can't get back. Spider-Man 2 was so boring. You would think that with three, yes THREE villains their could have been some action, but for an action movie not very much happens. Really we only get about a half an hour of super hero action and the rest of the movie is I love you but I can't have you, or can I? No I can't, yes I can.... back and forth and back and forth until you want everybody to just get zapped. OK I know, even in the comics the romances of Spider-Man play a big part of the story but when you only have a couple of hours to tell a story it's important to get into the story, move things along and not dwell on things. Another problem with the movie is they tried to introduce to many characters all together. Three villains, all with minimal screen time. The whole movie felt more like they were setting up for their next movie rather than telling us a story.  While other Marvel movies, Iron Man, Thor, did a ...

Matt Smith to leave Doctor Who

That's right the 11th Doctor, Matt Smith, has announced that this is the end of his roll as the beloved Doctor. Smith joined the epic list of Doctors in 2010, where he stayed for 4 years. He is set to stay around for the 50th anniversary special and the Christmas special where he will be regenerating. The roll of the 12th Doctor has yet to be decided  but the hunt is on.  I can't wait to see who they find. I'll try to keep all my fellow Whovians informed as news is released.

Star Trek Into Darknesss Review

With the release of the first Star  Trek movie by J.J. Abrams the bar for any other Star Trek movie was set high and the real question was would another Star Trek movie live up  to what we have come to expect from them. The answer, yes! This Star Trek movie was amazing. The visual effects were topnotch, they left my jaw dropped from beginning to end. The story not only kept my attention but left me on the edge of the seat the entire movie and when it was all done the only thing I could think was I have to go see this again.  It had  great twists and turns that left you wondering what is going to happen  next. But the movie wasn't all heart stopping action. It had humorous moments to help lighten the mood of the movie. This has to be my favorite Star Trek movie so far. Everybody from the super Trekkie to the person that's never seen an episode in their life will get a blast out of it. Go see this movie.

Iron Man 3 Garbage!

I was really looking forward to this Iron Man movie. I've always loved the Mandarin as a super villain especially against Iron Man. The ultimate battle of magic and technology, and was any of that in this movie? Nope! They make the Mandarin into some drug addict nitwit. The so called "plot twist" you could see a mile away. To top it all off, Tony Stark doesn't even get to wear his suit for large portions of the movie. He spends most of his time playing MacGyver and getting his backside handed to him. Don't go see this movie! Run from it! Run far, run fast and pray that Marvel doesn't let them screw up the next movie.

Borderlands 2 Salvador Tips

Today I'm going to write about Salvador the Gunzerker. Salvador is what would be referred to in traditional games as the berserker.  He's the guy that goes in with guns blazing and takes everybody out. If you're the more up-close and personal kinda fps player this is the guy to go for. Salavadors' special ability is Gunzerking. Gunzerking lets you bust out two weapons at the same time and take out everything in your way. While with other classes the cool down for your skills isn't that bad the Gunzerking is one of the higher ones with a 42 second wait until you can use it again. As with all the other toons you get your choice of 3 skill trees to buff up Salvador. Gun Lust- this skill tree is more about reloading, changing weapons and making the guns use more potent. Rampage - this tree is more about your ammo, recovering and capacity, not to mention lowering cool down time and making the actual gunzeking last longer. Brawn - the tank class making you toughe...

Borderlands 2 Maya Tips

This is the third installment in my Borderlands 2 guides. I've covered Axton, and Zer0 so far and now it's time for the beauty of the wastelands, Maya. Maya is the Siren class for Borderlands. Lilith was a Siren of the original game. Maya's special skill is Phaselock. It brings enemies into the air locking them down for you to take out. As you gain levels the Phaselock ability will gain different additional powers. Everything from giving back some health, increasing critical and hit damage, not to forget lighting enemies on fire. Tips: The Harmony skill tree has abilities that bring back health and is great for playing with friends. The Cataclysm tree is just what is sounds like. Your Phaselock ability will have the added elemental effect. Phaselock is a great ability for setting up sniper shots. Always carry a sniper rifle. The Motion tree is great for handling large groups of enemies. With skills like Converge that will suck a bunch of enemies together setting t...

Borderlands 2 Zer0 tips

Zer0 from Borderlands 2 is the super nifty looking assassin. His special power is called deception, Zero turns invisible for a short period and places a decoy out, so he can get close behind an enemy and use his melee attack for a devastating attack bonus. His three skill trees are Sniping for accuracy and critical hit, cunning which is mostly for melee but also helps with sniping, and Bloodshed which is more about giving buffs after each kill. Tips Ninja Vanish! Your Deception skill isn't just a great way to take down enemies. When you feel the world tumbling out of control pop your Deception skill and run for it. Sniper Rifles are your friend. Zer0  is an assassin, getting yourself in the middle of every fight isn't always the best way to go. Sometimes it's better to sit back and take out your enemies from afar. Good skills for a Sniping: Bore , your shots pierce through enemies if it hits another target after it's first it gains a massive damage bonus. Critica...

Borderlands 2 Axton Tips

Hey everybody I decided to continue with Borderlands 2 by giving tips on each of the playable classes. So for this blog I'm going to start of with Axton. Axton for those that don't know is the soldier. He actually reminds me a lot of Roland from Borerlands 1, as he summons torrents  to help you take out his opponents. The Tips: Use your ability's. That torrent is going to save you in all sorts of tricky situations and it's not like it's not going to recharge so bust out that bad boy. Watch where you put your torrent. If you place a rocket torrent to close to a wall the rockets will hit the wall and  nothing else. I know how much we all hate walls but their are more important targets. Your torrent goes after whoever is closest. This gives you a chance to pick your target better. If the torrent is going to take out what it's shooting at before it can get to you, you should go after bad guys further away. Offense or Defense. If you are more upfront offens...

That's right another mmo has dropped the fee and decided to free, or at least basically free. Tera Online has decided to drop it's subscription fees this February. That gives players 8 character slots, 4 bank slots, a special mount and the title "Founder" For those of us just jumping into the world of Tera we will be greeted with new battlegrounds and dungeons. If you're looking for the official Tera website just click right  here . I don't know what everybody else is thinking but with all the mmo's going free to play I'm going to have a whole lot less free time on my hands. It also makes me...

Gamers rage over rumors of Sony patent!

I was just checking my e-mail when an alert from IGN popped up, a rumor has surfaced that Sony has a patent on technology that will block second hand games. On December 9th Sony filed for a patent for new tech that will link game disks to a users account. Their will be contactless tag, the system will read when the disk is first played. In order to play the game, the code that the game has saved and the one stored in the system will have to match or the game wont play. So what does this mean? Well for companies like Gamestop where a large portion of their profits came from used games, they will in effect be going out of business. As for companies that rent games, they're going to have a horrible time doing any business as well. If they can do any at all. But what about the everyday gamer?  I know I've let my brother  test out games that I've bought to see if he liked them before he went out and bought them, and he's done the same for me. Demo disks and downloadable ...

New Tomb Raider News!

I'm a Tomb Raider fan from way back when. So when I heard they were rebooting the series I got kinda worried. But after watching all the new vids online and seeing the screen shots I can't wait to dive back into Laura Crofts world. One thing that's been floating around the net is the question will Tomb Raider have multiplayer? Well we finally know. Today Crystal Dynamics Global Brand Director Karl Stewart Twitted "Ok, So after all the speculation..yes it's true. oxmonline.com/our-next-issue...check out @oxm for all the info on @tombraider's new multiplayer." I'm not exactly sure how a multiplayer option is going to work for a game like Tomb Raider, but it's no good to start judging things before we get a chance to play. The rest of the game, from what we've seen so far looks amazing.

More Diablo PvP delays.

Hey everybody, hope you had a great Christmas or what ever you celebrate. For those of us who have been waiting for the PvP content for Diablo 3, we're in for surprise... OK not so much. They've pushed it back......... again. PvP was part of the content that was supposed to come with the launch of Diablo 3, but Blizzard said it came with too many bugs and they didn't want to give the consumer something that isn't any good. I can go for that, I don't want to play something that doesn't work. Now however the PvP has been pushed back again because of a lack of depth. Game director Jay Wilson posted on the Diablo 3 site that "team deathmatch has been indefinitely tabled." "For us it comes to a few issues, one of which is depth.  Simply fighting each other with no other objectives or choices to make gets old relatively quickly.  We've brought a lot of people in to try out Team Deathmatch and, while some found it entertaining, most of our...

WoW 5.2 PTR Notes!

WoW addicts rejoice! wowhead.com has published 5.2 patch notes that are up on the public test realm. So what can we get excited for? Well i'm not going to list everything if you want to know a full list go here . Some of the neater stuff I noticed goes as follows. First a new raid will be opening up, Throne of Thunder. Also rogues will get 3 new abilities, along with monks getting two more. Their will be 3 more mounts to collect along with another 3 more companions. Heirloom gear will now be good until level 85, although I think heirloom gear takes away from the fun of the game. Some of the glyphs will be reworked. The last big thing I saw was the slick new Tier 15 armor, something you really should take a look at. Of course this is all just up on the PTR and nothing is set in stone. Really like the new caster armors, but the new paladin armor doesn't look as good.

Borderlands 2, The Legend Continues

Gearbox has done a great job so far giving us new content for Borderlands 2 with their third DLC, Sir Hammerlocks Big Game Hunt on it's way. With the super popularity of the last 2k has said that it wants  to keep supporting more new content to keep the fans happy.  2K has also confirmed that they will be raising the level cap from 50 in the beginning of the first quarter of next year. Past DLC have included Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage, the Mechromancer pack, Creature Slaughterdome, and Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's booty. All of which are available on Steam and worth picking up. At least I've enjoyed them a ton. The Mechromancer being my favorite character so far. I'm looking forward to any other new character classes they might think up.

The Secret World looses subsciption fee

Yup, another mmo has decided to loose it's subscription fee. In an attempt to get people to play, The Lost World has decided to loose the sub fee and instead make it a one time price of $30 and you'll be able to get additional content by paying a small fee. Funcoms other mmo, Conan, has also recently removed it's sub fees. The secret world takes place in the present world where you join one of three factions to fight the war against the secret world. That secret world being supernatural beings that threaten human kind. Threw the game you will not only kill supernatural monsters but also investigate conspiracy theories and myths putting the player in a deep and interesting story. The Metasscore for The Secret World is 73 out of  100 and the user score is 8.2 out of 10. You can download The Secret World on Steam for $29.99.
