Cleaning....

So I had great plans of just heading out early and picking up Wildstar, then spending the day installing and playing. Of course it's never that easy. Picking up the game went just find, it was the last copy so I got a bit lucky there.

The problem came when I got home, opened up the dvd drive and popped the disk in and nothing. I took it out put it back in..... nothing. I restarted, checked drivers, uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them with nothing but more nothing.  All this lead to me taking the laptop apart giving the inside a good cleaning, which included more than a little profanity, after all profanity helps fix everything along with duct tape and a hammer. After all that I put the dvd back into the drive, still nothing.  Anyway after a day of me fiddling with it, something must have clicked just right and it started working again. Wildstar got installed and I ended up making a Human Engineer that took the explorer path.

I've only had a couple hours of play but so far Wildstar is a lot of fun. I like that it  gives me rewards for doing what I love doing, exploring. I also like the combat, it actually wants you to keep moving not just when you're standing in some fire. It makes  me feel like the game actually takes a bit of skill and not just better gear or a higher level. What I'm really looking forward to is when I can get a mount and customize it along with building my house.

On a totally different note Steam is having its super amazing summer sale. Where I end up spending more money that I had planned but come out with more games than I normally would have. I've already picked up Farcry 3 for 75% off and I can't wait  to see what comes up next. If you're looking to pick up a game on Steam, now is the time to go looking. The sale lasts until the 30th of June.

Another Day Another Bounty 10.24.13

That's right it's a new day and another bounty has been released for all of us hunters in the Borderlands 2 Loot Hunt. Today's bounty is DJ Tanner , he can be found in Magnys Lighthouse . This hunt is another that is in the Captain Scarlett DLC. He should drop the " Tidal Wave " that can be used for the community bounty. Speaking of the community bounty, today's community bounty is Sand Worm Queens . You may remember fighting one while doing the My life for a sand sandskiff mission  early on in the DLC. A Sand Worm Queen is what leaps out of the sand and swallows Lionel's engine capacitor. I found the best place to find the Sand Worm Queen in Wurmwater just north of the Rustyard exit in a crater. You actually have to hope out of your skiff for them to spawn and they don't always spawn. I have a picture of the location down below. Wildstar goes F2P

Another MMO is going free to play. That's right recently the makers of WildStar have announced it's going free to play. I don't know if it's just going completely free and just charging people for the extras in-game or if you'll still have to buy the game but they are getting rid of the monthly fee. Really you didn't need to pay a monthly fee, I know I didn't for the short time I played the game. All you had to do was buy (with in-game money) the special tokens that would let you in-turn buy game time. That's right, it's the system that WoW picked up, which kinda makes me wonder if WoW is going to be going free sometime in the future. hmmmmm. Anyway Wildstar is supposed to be going free this fall.  So if you haven't played or like me got tired of playing, this fall might be a good time to hop back into the game.
